Food is my passion. Creating dishes that people enjoy and being able to pass on that passion through my creations is a rush. From the smells to the process and up to the final dishes, cooking is something that excites me. For as much as I love cooking, I also love eating. Finding hole in the wall restaurants and hidden gems in the city that take you on new culinary rides… and why not share the wealth.
This blog isn’t just reviews but it’s my personal take on the whole experience, both from the perspective of a trained professional chef and the customer. I want to get people out there and become a little more adventurous than what they’re used to. A lot of people tend to just search for what they’re comfortable with, which means eating GMO’s from fast food joints.
At the same time, I don’t take myself too seriously, I like to have a good time when my chubby butt is out there trying new foods. So when I write about my expeditions, I will tell you what I think of the food, give descriptions of what you might not know, and throw in a joke here and there.
About me as a person? I’m into music, I worked as a professional DJ for 9 years so ambiance is something I’m familiar with… what can set a mood and what can kill it. I, of course, love food. I’ve worked in various well established restaurants like ProvidenceLA, Joe’s, All’Angelos, Monsieur Marcel, with stints at Spago, and Wolfgang Puck Catering ( The Grammys; Oscars; Governor’s Ball), and also did catering events for a few celebrities for example.
A lot of events coming up, better get ready for the busy schedule trying to visit them all. I am the biggest food lover, as it is obvious by my fluffy appearance, lol

@Vanessa – You know, if you’re in the LA area, you’re more than welcome to join in on the events. Btw, lol ^^. That’s in part how I ended up picking the name for my site- it’s a Latin term of endearment for “chubby/fatty”- something that you would call your bf/gf… lol

The food looks amazing! Wish I would be a bit closer. Just one thing, in Ecuador chonchudo isn’t a very nice word.

What does chonchudo mean in Ecuador? Here it’s a term of endearment for chubby/fatty- something you would call your bf/gf as a “petname”…

I loved food, all kinds of food; marketing, preparing, cooking, plating, eating, serving and more to it than just food. More event and activities, the more you are awake and very eager to cook for them. But, it needs your energy to the fullest. Fernando Lachica
